Dear Mr. Higgins:

	This is to express our thanks for the educational allowance
on the upgrade of our LOTS Decsystem 2040 to a 2050 with more memory
and disks and for its prompt delivery which will enable us to meet
our Fall student load.   The LOTS computer system is used exclusively
for student work and for unsponsored research.  In response to your
expression of concern about the matter, we can also assure your that
we have no intention of using or allowing the use of the LOTS system
for the development of memory or peripheral products competing with those
produced by D.EC.  We can give quite definite assurances on this
covering the next three years, because our plans for this period
are entirely firm, but actually we have no plans at all in that direction.
